Guide for Authors

Please read these guidelines carefully. Any submissions that do not meet the conditions set out below cannot be accepted for publication.

  • Authors are required to read carefully and follow the instructions for authors to Archaeological Inscriptions
  • Archaeological Inscriptions publishes articles in Arabic and English. Authors should submit a manuscript that has been carefully proofread and polished.
  • Archaeological Inscriptions is an annual journal, its print issue is published each January.
  • The deadline is May 31st for publication in January of the next calendar year.
  • Archaeological Inscriptions can publish a special issue any time of the year.
  • The submitted article is the final version. Manuscript should be submitted exactly according to the instructions for authors to Archaeological Inscriptions
  • Manuscripts shall be submitted by e-mail to Cheis@fayoum.edu.eg
  • Authors of reports of original research should present an accurate account of the work performed in addition to an objective discussion of its significance.
  • Treating all authors with fairness, courtesy, objectivity, honesty, and transparency.
  • An author should not publish manuscripts describing principally the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
  • Plagiarism is strictly forbidden. By submitting the article for publication, the authors agree that the publishers have the legal right to take appropriate action against them, if plagiarism or forgery is discovered. If plagiarism is detected, manuscripts are discarded and its author(s) are blocked from future submission to Archaeological Inscriptions. Editors and Reviewers are urged to check for plagiarism using available software of ithenticate program included in the website of Archaeological Inscriptions on EKB.
  • Font (EN): Times New Romans. font-size: 12
  • Font (AR):  Simplified Arabic. font-size: 14
  • Paper content should, in general, be organized in the following order: Title; Authors Name; Authors Affiliation; Abstract; Keywords; Introduction; Methods (for research-based articles); Content/Results and Discussion; Conclusions; and References.
  • Write Author(s) names without title and professional positions such as Prof, Dr, Production Manager, etc. Affiliation includes: name of department/unit, (faculty), name of university, address, country, including email address.

ABSTRACT:

Manuscripts shall contain an abstract (English- Arabic).  This section should summarize the content of the paper and should detail the problems, experimental approach, major findings, and conclusion in one paragraph. It should include two short abstracts One in Arabic (250 words) & one in English (250 words).

Keywords:

 At least 5-7 keywords at the beginning of your paper arranged alphabetically

Text formatting

The submitted article shall contain no tab or style sheet. When necessary, the text shall be set in italic. Notes shall be put at the bottom of the page and automatically numbered from 1 to n.

The basic structure of the submitted article shall be defined by unnumbered headings. Each table or illustration shall be provided in a separate digital file. Illustration and table legends shall include the source,  unless the  element is published for the first time,  the author (photographer, designer etc.), if any, and his/her affiliation.

Bibliographical references

In the footnotes, bibliographical references shall refer to the bibliography provided at the end of the article.  They shall contain the author’s last name and a short version of the article/volume’s title.

Author fee (page charge)

Archaeological Inscriptions Journal is an open-access journal. Fees charged for accepted papers are 1900 EP for maximum 15 pages (for Egyptians) and 300 USD for maximum 15 pages (for Non-Egyptians). Charges will be paid cash or by post to the secretary of the Journal accompanied with all related data of both the author(s) and the paper.

Charges include reviewing fees, editorial charges, publication of one entire research paper in Online, and one print edition of the entire Issue.
